Maternal & Infant Health Award

According to the most recent data, over 800 women die each day from preventable complications related to pregnancy and childbirth. Most of these complications are detectable, and the overwhelming majority of maternal and child deaths are preventable through timely intervention and adequate care.

The Maternal & Infant Health Award is a $10 million grant competition to help improve maternal and infant health outcomes around the world.

Criminal Justice Reform Portfolio

The United States represents roughly 5% of the world’s population yet houses nearly 25% of the world’s prisoners. Its penal practices are organized around the central tenets of retribution and incapacitation rather than rehabilitation, standing in stark contrast to other democracies, which prioritize “normalization” within prisons and stress social, economic, and political reintegration upon release.

The Patchwork Collective’s Criminal Justice Reform Portfolio is comprised of thirteen organizations that have the strategy, vision, and implementation skills to help reimagine and rehumanize America’s justice system.

Larsen Lam ICONIQ Impact Award

According to UNHCR, the population of displaced people and refugees is at an historic high of nearly 80 million. Most refugee funding goes towards addressing urgent needs like food, shelter, healthcare, water, and sanitation. Longer term needs, like the opportunity to earn livelihoods and resettle in safe countries, receive little funding.

The Larsen Lam ICONIQ Impact Award is a $24.25 million grant competition that seeks to help refugees across the globe build a brighter, more durable future. The award is funding long-term, transformational change by placing power and resources back in the hands of refugees themselves.

Stronger Democracy Award

In the United States and abroad, democracy is under attack. Gerrymandering continues to dilute the influence of Black, Brown, and minority citizens, restrictive voting provisions are passed regularly, and issues around representation and civic engagement have become a polarized battleground.

The Stronger Democracy Award is a $22 million grant competition to help improve political representation and increase participation in the United States’ democratic process.

ICONIQ Impact Education & Economic Mobility Co-Lab

In the 1940s, more than 90% of children grew up to earn more than their parents. Today, this number has been cut in half. Education is a powerful pathway to success and can play a critical role in propelling children upward. However, large opportunity gaps between children from different backgrounds hamper educational outcomes and stunt intergenerational mobility for the most marginalized groups.

The ICONIQ Impact Education & Economic Mobility Co-Lab is a $55 million collaborative philanthropy fund supporting sixteen organizations that aim to break down the systemic barriers that limit educational opportunities for marginalized students across the United States.

ICONIQ Impact Climate Equity Co-Lab

The adverse effects of climate change are inequitably distributed, and those who suffer most are often those who bear the least responsibility for the current climate crisis. Women and girls are particularly vulnerable. Half a billion women and girls survive on less than a $1.90 per day, and many — particularly those in the Global South — have livelihoods that are directly tied to and dependent upon the land.

The ICONIQ Impact Climate Equity Co-Lab is a $50 million collaborative philanthropy fund supporting thirteen organizations at the intersection of climate change, gender equity, and poverty.  This Co-Lab is helping empower women across the globe, giving them the agency and resources to protect their land, and lift themselves and their families out of poverty.

ICONIQ Impact Ocean Co-Lab

Climate change is causing unprecedented damage to our ocean and the ecosystems it supports. The ocean is the world’s largest carbon sink and has the ability to deliver up to 21% of the emissions reductions needed to reach net zero CO2 emissions by 2050. Despite this, funding for the ocean comprises just 7% of climate giving, and only 2% of ocean funding is currently directed toward solutions that help combat climate change.

The ICONIQ Impact Ocean Co-Lab is a $50 million collaborative philanthropy fund whose grantees address the root causes of climate change through ocean-based programs and projects.
